We are delighted to announce that Adanna Akinfenwa, Andre Da Silva-Jenkins, & Lucas Tanner have all commenced pupillage at 5SAH Chambers.
Adanna is undertaking a family pupillage and Andre and Lucas are undertaking criminal pupillages.
Adanna Akinfenwa - Family Pupil
Adanna began her pupillage in October 2026 supervised by Jane Carter.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Adanna gained extensive experience across a broad range of family law proceedings, with experience in private children matters, domestic abuse and financial remedies.
Adanna previously worked as a Legal Adviser within the Family Court, where she advised the judiciary on matters arising under the Children Act 1989 and Family Law Act 1996. This provided her with valuable insight into judicial decision-making and the practical operation of the Family Court.
Adanna is also the Founder of Access Law Legal Services, an award-winning family law legal services organisation established to improve access to justice for individuals unable to afford traditional legal representation. Under her leadership Access Law Legal Services was named “Family Law Service of the Year”
Alongside her legal practice, Adanna serves as a Trustee of a domestic abuse charity. As part of her role, she has responsibility for developing legal resources designed to assist victims of domestic abuse in understanding and navigating the family justice system.
Andre Da Silva-Jenkins - Criminal Pupil
Andre began his pupillage in October 2026 under the supervision of Francesca Levett.
Before commencing pupillage, Andre worked as a parliamentary staffer to a Member of Parliament and the Minister for Policing and Crime. In this role, he led on complex MoJ and crime-related casework, and facilitated pro bono legal clinics for constituents facing eviction proceedings.
Prior to this, Andre interned at the National Pro Bono Centre, where he worked on a research project and restructured the centre's database to map pro bono services across the UK more effectively.
He also acted as a volunteer advocate with the School Exclusion Project, and in doing so he represented families challenging permanent exclusion decisions. This involved drafting and presenting submissions to the local authority Independent Review Panels.
Lucas Tanner - Criminal Pupil
Lucas began his pupillage in October 2026 supervised by Sarah Fairbairn.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Lucas was a reading assistant to a blind barrister in London. While he was studying the GDL, he volunteered for the City Legal Advice Clinic, providing Pro Bono advice and support to local residents.
During his Bar Course studies, Lucas worked with the Vocalise prison debating scheme as a student mentor. He co-ran a programme in HMP Belmarsh teaching a group of prisoners debating techniques and public speaking skills.
