POCA & Asset Forfeiture
Congratulations to Gary Pons for moving up to Band 2 this year for his POCA work:
"A pragmatic hard worker." "He's good at stripping fairly complex issues down to the nuts and bolts of the problem."
"A set well versed in all POCA issues which garners particular praise for representing clients facing confiscation orders and AFOs. Its barristers often act in multi-jurisdictional matters, and are instructed by a broad range of enforcement receivers, defendants and prosecuting authorities. They have an additional specialism in matters with combined family/matrimonial proceedings."
Congratulations to Mark Cotter QC who moves to a Band 4 silk ranking.
"A well-regarded set equipped to handle all criminal cases including those relating to homicide, drugs and human trafficking. The set takes on matters involving serious sexual offences, including those pertaining to historic child abuse, gang-related assaults and rape.
Illustrative of its work in this field, one of its members recently secured a not guilty verdict for a high-profile popular musician accused of rape after a performance at a nightclub."
Many Congratulations to all of our teams, members and staff for their continued hard work who have helped 5SAH in their continued successes with Chambers and Partners, the Legal 500 in a challenging year for all.
