Jose recently represented a defendant in a privately-funded sex case where he drafted written representations to the CPS that the complainant's refusal to provide her mobile phone could result in a serious disclosure failure if that device included messages to friends that the sexual conduct with the defendant was consensual and that the case should be dropped as a result. These representations were accepted and the Crown subsequently offered no evidence. Defence Costs Order awarded. Jose was instructed by Duncan Lewis.

In another recent case Jose represented a defendant in a multi-handed human trafficking case where he made a successful s8 CPIA application for disclosure. The Crown offered no evidence on the first day of trial, partly as a result of a lack of disclosure. Jose was instructed by EBR Attridge.

Jose is ranked in the Legal 500 (2016 & 2017 editions) as a band 3 leading individual in crime at the London Bar. He defends and prosecutes in criminal cases involving the most serious allegations including offences of violence, sexual offences (including rapes and sex trafficking), firearms offences, drugs offences, fraud and confiscation proceedings.

Jose is Duty accredited and a Grade 3 prosecutor on the Advocate Rape Panel. He is an expert trial advocate who goes the extra mile for his clients. He is particularly well regarded by both defence firms and the CPS for his representation in serious and high-profile sexual offence trials.
