5SAH invites you to attend the final in our Autumn Series of Seminars: 2019. The seminar will be presented by our expert barristers in our Criminal Defence Team and Public Prosecutions Team.
This seminar sets out a practical approach to some of the common disclosure problems that arise in the criminal courts. In particular, the seminar looks at disclosure in the context of expert evidence and digital material. The speakers examine how to approach these topics from both a prosecution and defence perspective. The seminar also looks at what the best strategic approach is to the disclosure process, from completing the new-style PTPH form to the basics of what should go in a defence statement and how best to deploy disclosure requests.
The event will be chaired by Gary Pons:
- Gary Pons is an experienced and highly proficient barrister who specialises in complex financial cases often with a multi-jurisdictional element. Ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. He has significant experience acting for clients, both prosecution and defence, in relation to fraud, white collar crime, financial crime and has acted in the most serious of criminal cases including sexual offences, violence, the supply of drugs, murder and attempted murder.

Don Ramble has acted as disclosure counsel in some of the most high profile criminal cases of recent years, including the prosecution of Andrew Coulson and others for ‘phone hacking’, and the prosecution of Levi Bellfield for the abduction and murder of Milly Dowler. Don has also recently co-authored, ‘Tackling Disclosure in the Criminal Courts – A Practitioner’s Guide’.
- John McNamara is a barrister building a strong Crown Court practice representing defendants facing serious offences. He has acted as disclosure counsel in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. Prior to coming to the Bar John worked as a paralegal in a well respected firm where he assisted in litigating cases, often flagging disclosure issues resulting in the case being stopped.
