Sian Priory secured the discharge of her client’s extradition to Poland where he is wanted to serve a 2-year prison sentence in respect of burglary offences.

The client had previously consented to extradition in 2018 on separate matters, at which time the burglary matters were known to the authorities in Poland.

Sian successfully argued that Poland’s failure to request that speciality be waived created a legitimate expectation that there were no outstanding matters for the client to face. This combined with the impending birth of his first child meant that the impact of extradition would be exceptionally severe.

Sian specialises in extradition and international law, and maintains an established practice in all areas of criminal law , regulatory law, and professional discipline.

Sian was instructed by Jettender Arora of Saunders Solicitors.
