Overview
Niamh practices exclusively in family law and accepts instructions in private and public law children cases, and in family finance cases. She is recognised in the Legal 500 for her work in Family Law.
- Prior to joining the Bar in England, she worked as a Barrister and in other legal disciplines in the Republic of Ireland and the UAE.
- Niamh holds a specialist qualification in international arbitration.
- With unique ability to represent clients in both England and Ireland, Niamh is regularly instructed in cross-border disputes between these jurisdictions.
- Niamh also previously lived and worked in the UAE for eight years, where she practised in the DIFC Courts, Dubai. Niamh also acted for clients in both international and domestic arbitration disputes.

Family & Children & International Family
Family Finance and Divorce
Niamh represents clients in financial remedy proceedings. Niamh has experience dealing with more complex matters within financial proceedings such as trusts, interveners, divorce, TOLATA, and often with cases having an international dimension, particularly in Ireland and the UAE. Niamh has experience drafting pre and post nuptial agreements.
International Family Law
Within her private children practice, Niamh is regularly instructed on international child abduction cases and relocation cases. Niamh has experience with both Hague Convention and non-Convention proceedings concerning child abduction.
Niamh has recently presented a webinar on International Child Abduction and has written several articles for Family Law Week also focused on this topic.
Building on her previous experience living and working in the UAE, Niamh maintains strong professional ties within the jurisdiction and continues to represent clients based there. In 2024, she represented the Bar Council as a delegate in the UAE, and, in September 2025, was a panellist at the Bar Council’s Family Law Conference in Dubai.
Private Children
Niamh has extensive experience representing clients in a broad range of private children proceedings involving child arrangements, relocation (national and international), child abduction, child maintenance and Schedule 1 applications. In addition to representing parents within these types of proceedings, Niamh has also acted for grandparents, guardians, and special guardians.
Domestic Abuse
Niamh represents clients in applications for non-molestation and occupation orders and has extensive experience dealing with clients who are victims of domestic abuse and those accused of being perpetrators.
Care Proceedings
Niamh has vast experience acting for local authorities, parents and guardians in public law children proceedings. Niamh has also represented parties in applications for Deprivation of Liberty (DOLS).

- Niamh was selected by the Bar Council of Ireland for a secondment to the internationally renowned Innocence Project in Ohio, USA in 2016.
