Dan Jones was instructed to represent a mother accused of cruelty to her children by leaving them home alone in the early hours of the morning.

It was clear that the defendant had significant issues with both her physical and mental health and, given the ongoing criminal proceedings, the local authority had intervened and removed all of her children from her care. In those circumstances, it was clear that there was no public interest in proceeding against the defendant.

Dan assisted his instructing solicitors with drafting written representations to the CPS. The CPS agreed with those representations and, on 9 January 2020, offered no evidence against Dan’s client.

Dan Jones was instructed by Elizabeth Blyth-Cook at ABC Solicitors.
