Don Ramble prosecuted a defendant sentenced to 6 years’ imprisonment for stabbing her estranged husband seven times with a kitchen knife, causing a collapsed lung.  The victim had held his arms up to try to protect himself, only to have been further stabbed in his arms, with such force that the underlying bone was fractured. One of the stab wounds was so deep it penetrated through the chest wall into the liver.  Despite thinking at the time that he was going to die, the victim survived after managing to stagger to a nearby public house to seek help.
