Daniel Jones prosecuted the sentence of Mr Pendergast, who appeared at Woolwich Crown Court where he was sentenced for four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and one count of withholding information to obtain motor insurance. The fifth offence related to modifying a vehicle without declaring it to his insurers. The modifications to his vehicle included adding blue lights and a modification to the exhaust.

Mr Pendergast had attended an informal event where car users drove their vehicles whilst a number of people watched. Mr Pendergast had ploughed into 15 bystanders while showing off his modified Mini on the Medway City Estate. Mr Pendergast was arrested at the scene following the accident which led to four men aged between 20 and 50 being taken to a London hospital.
