Mr Pendergast, appeared before Judge Saggerson at Woolwich Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and one count of withholding information to obtain motor insurance. 

The fifth offence relates to modifying a vehicle without declaring it to his insurers. The modifications to his vehicle included adding blue lights and a modification to the exhaust.

The court heard how Mr Pendergast attended the informal event where car users drove their vehicles whilst a number of people watched. Mr Pendergast had ploughed into 15 bystanders while showing off his modified Mini on the Medway City Estate. Mr Pendergast was arrested at the scene following the accident which led to four men aged between 20 and 50 being taken to a London hospital.

The case has been adjourned to 9 May 2017 for the sentencing hearing.
