Chris May prosecuted the case of Coates who was convicted of manslaughter.
The jury heard how a former prostitute was strangled with a belt during a sex game with defendant. Three women on the jury wept on hearing after the verdicts that Coates had previously been convicted of a terrifying sex attack on a woman in front of her young child.
Coates alleged that it was a game gone wrong however the body was left under a duvet for 5 days.
Chris May told the court “It was a case of murder and not an accident.” as Coates claimed.
