Led by Sarah Forshaw KC of 5KBW, Charlotte Oliver represented the first defendant, who was unanimously acquitted of murder, manslaughter and conspiracy to rob following a four-week trial before Mr Justice Butcher (appointed to the Court of Appeal during the course of the trial) and a jury at Kingston Crown Court.

Nathan Toms represented the first defendant's brother, who was also acquitted of conspiracy to rob.

The prosecution alleged that, on 9 December 2025, three youths robbed a cannabis dealer before the first defendant fatally stabbed him. Following the trial, the jury returned not guilty verdicts in respect of Charlotte's client on all counts, and Nathan's client was acquitted of conspiracy to rob.

Charlotte and Nathan were instructed by Bernie Duke and Steve Garland of EBR Attridge.
