We are delighted to announce that Izzy Fish, Rachel Warner & Rebecca Khan have all completed their first six months of pupillage and now have their rights of audience. They can now accept instructions.
Izzy and Rachel are undertaking criminal pupillages and Rebecca is undertaking a family pupillage. Each of them brings a wealth of experience and knowledge gained prior to commencing pupillage, which we are confident they will apply throughout their second-six and beyond.
Izzy Fish
Izzy is a second six pupil. She accepts appropriate instructions in Criminal and Extradition Law.
In her first four months of pupillage, she observed a wide variety of criminal and extradition law. In her second two months of pupillage, she observed the prosecution and defence of serious and general crime, asset forfeiture proceedings, and regulatory proceedings.
Prior to starting pupillage, Izzy was a paralegal at Sonn Macmillan Walker, primarily working in the financial crime and asset forfeiture department. During her time at the firm, she worked on a broad range of cases, including sexual offences, serious violence, large-scale complex frauds, asset freezing and forfeiture orders, and confiscation matters before the Magistrates Court, Crown Court, and Court of Appeal.
During her Bar Course at the University of Law, she undertook an LLM in Pro Bono Practice, specialising in immigration law. Izzy is the Chair of the Events Committee for Women in Criminal Law.
Rachel Warner
Rachel is a second six pupil. She accepts appropriate instructions in Criminal and Extradition Law.
In her first 4 months of pupillage, she observed the prosecution of serious and organised crime under the supervision of Dominic Connolly, including cases of rape, child sex offences, PWITS and murder. In her second 2 months of pupillage, she observed extradition and international law under the supervision of Louisa Collins. She has also undertaken training with the Youth Justice Legal centre (YJLC) Representing Child Clients - Training for Junior Lawyers.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Rachel Warner served as an adjudicator for The Pensions Ombudsman, assisting with a broad range of pension disputes, including transfer delays, death benefits, and pension liberation cases.
Before this, Rachel worked for Leicestershire Police in the serious crime department, handling cases ranging from robbery and drug offences to attempted murder. She also worked for the National Crime Agency within CEOP (the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) and was part of the team that investigated David Wilson, who was later convicted of 96 sex offences.
Rebecca Khan
Rebecca is a second six pupil. She accepts instructions in all areas of family law.
During her successfully completed non-practicing period of pupillage, she observed and assisted in a full range of work in children, finance, international and Family Law Act matters under the supervision of Maria Scotland and Gemma Lindfield.
Prior to pupillage, Rebecca trained as a Family Court Legal Adviser with the Ministry of Justice, based at East London Family Court for two years. She advised Magistrates in court on legal practice and procedure and ensured the effective management of hearings, working closely with all of court users including local authorities, CAFCASS and litigants in person. Rebecca has extensive courtroom experience in both private and public children proceedings, fact-finding hearings and non-molestation orders.
During her time at the University of Bristol, Rebecca volunteered with the Legal Advocacy and Support Project at the Bristol Law Centre, running disability and sickness benefits appeals to the First-tier Tribunal.
We wish them every success as they begin accepting instructions in their second-six and beyond.
