Vivian Walters prosecutes Kent arson case at Canterbury Crown Court, whereby the defendant set fire to the family home. He pleaded guilty on a basis which was not accepted by the prosecution and which disputed both the expert evidence of the fire investigator and the psychiatric report. After a trial of issue, the judge found in favour of the prosecution. The judge found the defendant posed a continuing danger to others and imposed an extended sentence.
