James McCaw, 26, has been convicted by a jury of six sex offences, including rape and carrying out sex attacks.

Mr McCaw had denied the offences, but a jury at Canterbury Crown Court retired for more than five hours before returning guilty verdicts by a majority of 10-2.

The judge sentenced Mr McCaw to 16 years after ruling he was "an offender of particular concern". Mr McCaw was also ordered to sign the Sex Offender’s Register.

An NSPCC spokesperson said: “McCaw’s calculated and predatory actions will have had a devastating impact on his vulnerable young victims.

“It’s thanks to their continued bravery that McCaw is finally facing justice, despite his attempts to get away with his sickening crimes.

“This case shows that victims of sexual abuse will be listened to and justice will be achieved. With the right help and support, victims will be able to rebuild their lives.”

Paul Valder appeared for the prosecution.  Paul is an experienced barrister who prosecutes and defends crime at all levels.  He is a CPS level 4 appointed advocate and appears in cases that demand his level of experience and expertise.
