Chris May successfully defended a man charged with 5 offences of Rape and one of sexual assault who had been released on ‘life licence’ only four months prior to his arrest, having served nearly 30 years of a life sentence imposed for Murder. The complainant told the police and the jury that she was terrified of him when she found out about his Murder conviction and that he had told her of two other offences of Attempted Murder and involvement in a gangland shooting. The jury at Isleworth Crown Court returned verdicts of Not Guilty on all counts on the Indictment after a three-week trial on Friday 11th April.
