Ben Keith recently spoke in the National press on the Julian Assange case.

Assange had avoided extradition proceedings as he stayed within the sanctuary of the Ecuadorian Embassy. It would seem that the relationship soured and Assange was no longer afforded the protection of the Embassy and was quite literally dragged from the building.

Following his recent arrest, Ben Keith wrote for the Times on 12 April 2019 and discusses the case here.

Assange was sentenced to 50 weeks in prison for breaching his bail conditions in his extradition proceedings from 2012. You can view Ben's BBC News interview on 16 April 2019 here.

The Assange case is likely to be a long and hard-fought Extradition process, with the Swedish prosecutor confirming today that she will re-open the rape allegations against Assange. In addition, the U.S. also wants to extradite Assange for his role in the Wiki-leaks scandal and the release of classified military and diplomatic material dating back to 2010.
