Three members of a gang of bank robbers have received life sentences at the Old Bailey, following their convictions by a jury after a trial lasting 8 weeks.  Three other gang members received sentences of between 3 1/2 and 9 years for their roles in a series of conspiracies to rob banks across south London.  

The prosecution was conducted by Edmund Burge leading John Warrington, who were instructed by the Serious Casework Unit of the London CPS.  The defendants were responsible for 10 bank robberies between 2014 and 2015, in which over £120,000 was stolen, involving significant levels of violence against members of the banks’ staff.  

The gang’s activities culminated with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun being held to the head of one member of staff during the final robbery.
