On 9 July 2012 following a 2 week trial at the Old Bailey, David Josse Q.C. (instructed by Owen White & Catlin) secured the acquittal for murder of his client, Pavel Duvanov. The allegation arose out of a fight between workmates after a Friday night drinking session in Shepherd’s Bush. The case turned largely on the conflicting evidence of pathologists, three of whom gave evidence during the course of the trial. The jury acquitted of murder but convicted the defendant of manslaughter, a charge to which he had been prepared to plead guilty throughout the proceedings, but had been unacceptable to the prosecution.
