The 5SAH Crime Team is a highly experienced team of criminal practitioners with expertise across the full range of serious and complex criminal matters. The team has particular strength in complex fraud, financial crime, serious sexual offences, homicide, serious violence, drugs, modern slavery and organised crime, and regularly acts in cases involving the SFO, FCA, NCA, HMRC and CPS.
Members also have extensive experience in asset recovery, confiscation and proceeds of crime, as well as cases involving vulnerable defendants, mental health and fitness to plead. The team both defends and prosecutes and is regularly instructed in high-profile and complex cases, with members recognised in both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 for their work in crime.
The 5SAH Extradition & International Team has a strong national and international reputation in extradition and international law, with extensive experience representing both individuals and foreign governments. The team advises and represents clients in cases involving European Arrest Warrants and the post-Brexit Trade and Cooperation Agreement, Part 2 extradition requests and proceedings involving jurisdictions across the world, as well as appeals to the Divisional Court, Administrative Court and Supreme Court and applications before the European Court of Human Rights.
Members also have particular expertise in cases involving human rights, political persecution, corruption, terrorism, serious and complex fraud, drug trafficking and people trafficking, alongside INTERPOL Red Notices, Mutual Legal Assistance and the transfer of sentenced prisoners. The team is ranked in both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, with one silk and nine juniors individually recognised for their extradition expertise.
