Kevin Dent QC has opened the case in the trial of Paul Fontaine and Frankie Sinclair at the Old Bailey, scheduled to last for four weeks.

The two defendants face charges arising from Operation Venetic - the UK law enforcement response to the takedown of the encrypted telecommunications system known as EncroChat. They face a number of charges including conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to possess firearms and ammunition, conspiracy to supply class A drugs, conspiracy to supply counterfeit currency and money laundering.
