Kaly Kaul QC leading Dee Connolly, secured a suspended sentence for Kathryn Joy Clark in relation to her sentence at Southwark Crown Court before HHJ Loraine Smith. She was the subject of a ‘SOCPA’ agreement concluded with the SFO in late 2014. The investigation concerned the marketing of various unregulated financial products which were made available to individual investors through IFA’s between 2006-12. It was a joint operation involving the SFO, Nottinghamshire Police, East Midlands Special Operations Unit assisted by the FCA. The co – defendant Richard Clay was sentenced to 10 years and 8 months imprisonment. They were instructed by Siobhain Egan of Lewis Nedas.
