5 St Andrew's Hill is pleased to announce that Ben Keith will speak at When Policing Becomes Political — International Police Cooperation in the Era of Spin Dictators, an evening seminar hosted by the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies at Leiden University on Thursday 9 July 2026, co-sponsored by International Human Rights Advisors.
The seminar considers how Interpol Red Notices, diffusions and international police and judicial cooperation are misused by authoritarian regimes to reach across borders, and the obligations international law imposes on states asked to give effect to such requests.
Ben will appear on the first panel, Between Cooperation and Complicity, on states' obligations under international law, alongside Dr Eelco van der Maat (Leiden University) and Cristian González Ruiz (IHR Advisors), and will be moderated by María Manuela Márquez V. (Leiden University).
Ben Keith is a leading barrister at 5 St Andrew's Hill specialising in extradition, Interpol, mutual legal assistance, international human rights and sanctions. He is ranked as a Star Individual in Chambers & Partners for extradition and is a co-founder of IHR Advisors and a co-editor of Red Notice Monitor.
We look forward to seeing you there.
