FORWARD is the leading African women-led organisation working on female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage and maternal health in the UK and Africa. For over 30 years we have been committed to safeguarding the rights and dignity of African girls and women. We do this through community engagement, grassroots partnerships, international advocacy, training and research. A panel of experts will join us to deliver training on various specialist areas of responding to FGM.

FORWARD is hosting a one-day training course accredited by Open College Network (OCN) to increase knowledge, awareness and understanding for professionals on FGM. This training is suitable for GPs, midwives, nurses, social workers and key staff at any agency involved in supporting women and girls affected by FGM. Amelia Nice from 5SAH will be speaking at the event. Amelia is a barrister specialising in extradition, international family and public law, and is ranked in Chambers and Partners as a leader in the field of Extradition at the London Bar.
