Sarah is a barrister practising in all areas of criminal law, with a particular focus on criminal defence. She has developed a busy Crown Court practice, spanning a wide range of offences.

Sarah also accepts instructions in family and regulatory work.

Criminal Defence

Sarah is a specialist criminal practitioner who accepts instructions in all aspects of criminal law, primarily acting for the defence.

Sarah has been instructed in cases in the Crown Court, Youth Court and Magistrates’ Court representing vulnerable defendants and has experience defending in a wide range of criminal offences, including cases of serious violence, possession of bladed articles and offensive weapons, offences related to the possession and supply of drugs and dishonesty offences.

Sarah has developed a busy Crown Court practice where she has been praised for her calm manner and persuasive advocacy. Sarah prides herself on representing a client from the first appearance in the Magistrates’ Court right through to the conclusion of their case in the Crown Court. This continuity allows Sarah to build a rapport with her clients and gives them the reassurance that Sarah knows their case thoroughly.

Sarah is regularly instructed in the Magistrates’ Court on a privately funded basis to represent individuals in driving matters and has successfully defended a number of individuals in such matters.

Sarah has completed the Just for Kids Law Youth Justice Course and the Vulnerable Witness Training.

Sarah regularly represents Applicants and Respondents in applications for Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders and Child Arrangement Orders. Sarah understands the benefits of continuity and prides herself in representing clients from the first hearing through to the conclusion of their case.

Sarah is frequently instructed by the Metropolitan Police Service in disclosure hearings, appearing in the High Court and the County Court.

Sarah is a Grade 1 CPS prosecutor and has been instructed in private prosecutions and on behalf of the Local Authority.

R v R – 2020 – St Albans Crown Court

Instructed to represent R, charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent.

R v P – 2020 – Huntingdon Crown Court

Defended a man of good character, charged with ABH and 2 batteries against his wife, successfully arguing self-defence.

R v B – 2019 – Kingston Crown Court

Successful defence of a man charged with assaulting a police officer and a racially aggravated public order offence against an Uber driver, both of which were captured on CCTV.
