Overview
Elisenda prosecutes and defends in a wide range of criminal cases.
Elisenda is on the CPS General Crime Advocate Panel at Level 1. Elisenda has experience of prosecuting jury trials, appeals against both conviction and sentence, PTPHs and sentencing hearings involving multiple defendants.
During pupillage, Elisenda obtained leave from a Single Judge and successfully appealed a sentence in the Court of Appeal, leading to the client’s immediate release from custody.

Elisenda successfully completed pupillage at 5 St Andrew’s Hill under the supervision of Allister Walker, David Williams and John Oliver.
Prior to starting pupillage, Elisenda was a paralegal at a private criminal defence firm where she assisted with a broad range of criminal defence, regulatory and military proceedings.
Before coming to the Bar, Elisenda worked for an MP where she undertook a variety of roles, including successfully challenging negative coronavirus grant decisions on behalf of local businesses. Elisenda has also worked for a Police and Crime Commissioner where she gained extensive knowledge of the working practices of the police.
During her time at the University of Bristol, she helped deliver Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) training to Detective Constables in Avon and Somerset Police.

Cases of Note
R v S, Canterbury Crown Court
Defended a man charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm where her client denied presence. The jury found him Not Guilty despite DNA attributed to her client found on the complainant at the scene.
R v O, Basildon Crown Court
Defended a man charged with intentional strangulation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm where there were two complainants. The jury returned 8 Not Guilty verdicts.
R v H, Maidstone Crown Court
Successfully appealed a Detention and Training Order, reducing the sentence to a 12-month Referral Order for a youth convicted of aggravated burglary.
R v H, Central Criminal Court
Defended a man at his sentencing hearing for breaching a Terrorism Prevention Order.
R v K, Canterbury Crown Court
Defended a man at sentence for money laundering involving over £350,000. Her client received a Suspended Sentence Order.
R v D, Harrow Crown Court (sitting at the Central Criminal Court)
Made a successful bail application for a man charged with witness intimidation and perverting the course of justice.
R v R, Canterbury Crown Court
Prosecuted an assisting unlawful immigration trial where the jury returned a Guilty verdict.
R v P, Croydon Magistrates’ Court
Defended at trial a man accused of assault against his partner. Despite her client’s previous conviction for assaulting another partner being admitted at trial, the Bench found her client Not Guilty.
R v B, Medway Magistrates’ Court
Defended at trial a vulnerable man accused of stalking both a schoolgirl and another young woman. The Bench found him Not Guilty of both charges.
R v H, Maidstone Crown Court
Successfully appealed a Detention and Training Order, reducing the sentence to a 12-month Referral Order for a child convicted of aggravated burglary.

Defended a man at his sentencing hearing for breaching a Terrorism Prevention Order.
