Following an investigation spanning 4 years, the defendant, Angel Jackson has been convicted on all 32 counts.
 
At the time of her arrest, the defendant was using a number of separate identities to perpetrate identity fraud, perform an unlawful eviction and defraud the London Borough’s of Croydon, Merton and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) of a total of £191,414.31.
 
The defendant’s true identity and date of birth remain unknown.
 
The defendant was sentenced, along with Maxwell Okyere who had pleaded guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice, at Croydon Crown Court on the 11th November 2016. His Honour Judge Hiddleston passed a sentence of 7 years imprisonment in respect of Angel Jackson and 8 months imprisonment for Maxwell Okyere. 
 
Following sentence, HHJ Hiddleston commended prosecution counsel for their “impressive dedication” and “hard work, often at very short notice” throughout the case.
