Congratulation to Sharmistha Michaels who has been appointed as a Legally Qualified Chair of the Investigating Committee Panel (ICP) for the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

The role of the ICP is to determine whether there is a case to answer in relation in respect of allegations against a person regulated by the HCPC. Sharmistha also holds appointments as a Legally Qualified Chair for the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service ( MPTS) and the Police Misconduct Panel (East of England).

Sharmistha Michaels is a barrister specialising in Human Rights, Extradition, Immigration, Asylum and Professional Discipline & Regulatory law. Sharmistha accepts instructions to advise and provide representation in disciplinary proceedings for individuals and regulators from various sectors. She has appeared before fitness to practice and interim order tribunals/committees.
