Directions
By train 5 St Andrew's Hill is a short two minute walk from either Blackfriars Station (District and Circle Underground Lines, Thameslink) or St Paul's Underground Station (Central Line).
By car Parking is available three minutes walk away, either inside the multi-storey NCP car park on Queen Victoria Street (above Blackfriars Underground Station) or at the meters immediately outside.
Approaching Chambers by car necessarily brings you, from whichever direction, to the Inner Ring Road. Running Clockwise, Tower Hill, Elephant and Castle, Westminster and the Euston Road.
Arriving from the East without the assistance of a guiding star, the Three Kings would have steered their camels to Tower Hill, then Lower and Upper Thames Streets until having passed Southwark Bridge and entered the long tunnel approaching Blackfriars they would move into the right hand lane ready to turn right at the traffic lights just after they emerged from the tunnel. They would have turned right into Puddle Dock. The traffic lights 30 yards ahead are on the crossroads formed by Puddle Dock, St Andrew's Hill (straight ahead and slightly to right) and Queen Victoria Street. Chambers 30 yards up the hill. For the underground public car park turn right and it is 40 yards on the right.
Arriving from the South aim for Elephant and Castle. Take the first exit into St George's Rd (wide one-way street) proceed past St George's Cathedral (large church which looks like someone has cut the top off) and when the road bifurcates take the right turn into Lambeth Rd (feels like you are going back on yourself). Straight ahead is the obelisk in St George's Circus. When you get there take the first exit up Blackfriars Road (Not sharp left into Waterloo Road at the lights). Follow Blackfriars Rd to Blackfriars Bridge. Cross same. At Northern end keep to the right as road splits, you want to go right, under the railway line, into Queen Victoria St. You are now approaching the traffic lights and the three kings. Left at lights for Chambers, straight on for parking, right to get lost.
Arriving from the West aim for the Embankment, either Hyde Park Corner and then down to Westminster or all the way along the river from Chelsea way. Through Parliament Square, towards Westminster Bridge, then left, just before Boadicea and her chariot, onto Victoria Embankment. Continue along under Hungerford, Waterloo and Blackfriars Bridges until as you rise from the Blackfriars underpass you turn left at the traffic lights, just before another tunnel, into Puddle Dock. You have just joined the original three kings' route. Up to lights straight for Chambers right for parking.
Arriving from points North it is easiest to aim for Kings Cross. Euston Road passes across the front of Kings Cross going East. Follow past the front of Kings Cross Thameslink on the right then turn right at the lights into Kings Cross Road. Stay on the road past Clerkenwell Mags, straight through lights onto Farringdon Rd. Carry on past Mount Pleasant, straight down past Smithfields, under Holborn Viaduct then straight through Ludgate Circus towards Blackfriars Bridge. At last lights before bridge turn left, onto Queen Victoria St (see South route for ending).
St Andrew's Hill is a no-through road and hard to turn in. Better to aim throughout office hours for the car park.
