Claire practises almost exclusively in criminal law undertaking both Prosecution and Defence work in and around central London.
Claire is currently a grade 2 prosecutor and was recently appointed to the Fraud Prosecution Service list of Approved Counsel.
Claire has an extensive experience acting for numerous Local Authorities in the field of Housing and Council Tax benefit fraud. Further, Claire has undertake regulatory work in this sector. Claire has been instructed for the Department of Work and Pensions in cases involving large-scale, nationwide Giro Cheque fraud. Further, Claire recently prosecuted a RCPO driven prosecution involving Income Tax Fraud
An experienced trial advocate for both the defence and the Crown, Claire has recently appeared as a junior to Leading Junior Counsel in a lengthy sex case. Claire is also currently instructed in her own right defending rape. Claire has experience defending a wide range of offences in the Crown Court including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, robbery, supply of drugs to prison, witness intimidation, violence, dishonesty and more.
Prior to joining the Bar as a practising barrister, Claire worked for a number of years as a case manager for the Revenue and Customs Prosecution Office with strong emphasis on MTIC frauds.
