The Bribery Act 2010 - An Insight

James Vine attended the offices of Smith & Williamson to address a number of Senior Executives from local businesses on the Bribery Act 2010

The Bribery Act 2010 came into effect on the 1st July 2011 and James provided much insight into the practical issues of complying with the Bribery Act, what the defence of "Adequate Procedures" means for business and giving guidance on the design and implementation of such procedures.

On the 27th January 2012 Mark Cotter of 5 St Andrew's Hill acted for the prosecution in a modern day reenactment of the sentence hearing of infamous 1960's play writer Joe Orton.

On 16th January 2012, District Judge Barron, sitting at the Hammersmith Magistrates' Court, stayed two summonses prosecuted by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham as an abuse of the process of the court.
