Don Ramble

Don was recently the disclosure Counsel in the prosecution of Levi Bellfield for the abduction and murder of Milly Dowler. This case stemmed from one of Britain's largest ever murder enquiries and was the largest operation of its kind in the history of Surrey Police.

Don is a Grade 3 CPS prosecutor and approved counsel for the Fraud Prosecution Service.

He has extensive experience in the Crown Court in cases relating to fraud, drugs, s.18 GBH, public order offences and people trafficking. He has prosecuted complex cases relating to money laundering, fraudulent trading, conspiracy to facilitate illegal entry and conspiracy to supply drugs. Don is also experienced in restraint and confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

  • R v Bellfield T20107188 (Crown Court) 
    Disclosure Counsel in the prosecution of Levi Bellfield for the abduction and murder of Milly Dowler.
  • R v Blomfield T20097249 (Crown Court)
    Prosecution of a man charged under section 16A of the Firearms Act 1968. The defendant had forced his way into a millionaire's residence and terrorised the cleaner and owner's young son.

    Trial at the Old Bailey of a man who repeatedly stabbed his victim.

    Led in a case involving three defendants charged with conspiracy to control the activities of prostitutes for gain.

    Led in an organised crime case concerning a conspiracy to disguise criminal property, namely stolen machinery, plant and commercial vehicles.
  • R v Selling and Brockwell T20050188/0209 (Crown Court)
    Prosecution of two men charged with possession with intent to supply the equivalent of 7 kilograms of cocaine at 100% purity, with an estimated value of between £1.5 and £2.5 million. A confiscation order was later made against the main defendant in the sum of £470,000.
